The first print is a detailed view of the siege at Cologne (Germany) in the Thirty Years’ War by Matthäus Merian, a Swiss-born engraver (1593-1650). The second print is a view of Cologne (Germany) by Pieter Schenck, a German engraver and cartographer (1660 - 1711).
The metal fames measure 12 inches wide and 8.5 inches tall (there is no glass).
