Sofa: Antique Daybed w/ Trundle - $150

condition: good
make / manufacturer: Gem Crib & Cradle
size / dimensions: 6' 2"L × 32"W × 19-1/2"H

Unusual antique of late 19th or early 20th century.

Narrow twin bed roll-out sofa with hidden trundle bedspring.

Could accommodate two kids, or one adult and one child.

Woven rose and beige fabric has a beautiful textured feather pattern, with some moderate wear and tear on the two back rest cushions.

As a sofa it would be against a wall to hold the back rests.

Cushions are still firm and springy.

The four wooden pedestals have small caster wheels to roll out into room for making the bed, sleeping or vacuuming.

A hidden compartment space is below and behind, for the slide-out trundle mattress spring.

This trundle spring hooks onto two built-in metal knobs, but also has folding legs for a free-standing option.

As another option, the main seat cushion might go on the trundle spring, and other bedding then be placed on the main box spring.

Manufacturer's artisan stamp burned into underside:

"This is a Genuine [by]
Gem Crib & Cradle,
Gardner, Mass."

Ephemera from this company can be found in the Smithsonian Libraries Trade Literature Collections, and on Ebay.

Asking $50.
Location - Strasburg VA.
