Alden Martin 20 foot single shell, 'Trainer' model known to be a good intermediate-skill boat, stable for novices yet easily powered, light and quick. This shell is in great shape, perfect finish without damage.
I began with the Oarmaster I drop in unit using this shell to learn the sport with 13 foot oars shown in the pictures, then moved up to the Oarmaster 3 that fit the long cedar oars with blades that came with the boat.
The trailer I modified from jet ski use by installing longer bunks. It works very well for transport and makes launching while rigged easy.
The cedar oars are in pristine condition.
The Oarmaster I setup is, unfortunately, incomplete because I can't find the spars/locks and one of the oars. Those will need to be replaced if you plan to do as I did and learn on the easier setup (oars on Amazon, spars in Annapolis or AdirondakRowing).
The shell is as stable as reported, I tipped over only once in the wave of a ferry boat and I learned that the shell is unsinkable. Without help I was able to swim to shore with it without too much effort. It's a fun setup and provides good exercise if you are near flat water.
I can't find pictures of the cedar oars, will post those later or send by email. Oarmaster III photo is from their site.
Located in Maryland north of D.C. (note- I can't find good pictures of the long oars, will post or mail later)
