The 10 Pfennig coin from the German Reich, minted in 1950, is a significant piece of numismatics. It represents one of the smallest circulating denominations of the Deutsche Mark, which was the official currency of West Germany from 1948 until 1990 and later of unified Germany from 1990 until 2002. The coin features a small oak seedling sprouting five leaves, symbolizing hope for the reconstruction of Germany after the war. The obverse includes the legend "BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND" and the year of issue "1950". The mint mark is a small letter in the center top, between two ears of rye. One of these coins has an "G" the other two have a "D". The "G" was struck in Karlsruhe, Germany and the "D" was struck in Munich, Germany. These coins have smooth edges with brass cladding partly stretched over a steel core. These coins are magnetic.
