Fox Trot RECORDS 78 RPM – Set of 10 Vintage Discs (20 songs)
This set of ten vintage 78 RPM records comes in a hardcover record book with different record names in its table of contents. Following are the contents of this Fox Trot set. (Other sets are also available.)
Okeh:
• A String of Pearls / Jersey Bounce. (Benny Goodman and his Orchestra.) (has some of the label torn off with the number 16 written on it. The “String of Pearls” side has a number 1 written on it.)
• Come on with the “Come on” / (I don’t stand) A Ghost of a Chance. (Cab Callaway and Orchestra) (has a number taped on it. There is a long crack on the “Ghost of a Chance” side of the record that goes about halfway around and it is almost an inch from the edge. This does not go through to the other side though.)
• Put It Away / Uptown Blues. (Jimmy Lunceford and his Orchestra) (has a number four sticker on it) The “Uptown Blues” record says blues…. It may not be foxtrot like the opposite side of the record.
Columbia:
• Sharp as a Tack / Jeffrie’s Blues (Harry James and his Orchestra)
• Moonlight Becomes You / I’ve Heard that Song Before. (Harry James and his Orchestra) (has 25 written on the label)
Victor:
• Raincheck / Perdido (Duke Ellington and his famous Orchestra) (has a 15 label on it)
• Don’t Get Around Much Anymore -F.T. (Never No Lament) / Cotton Tail (Duke Ellington and his famous Orchestra)
• This Time the Dream's on Me / Blues in the Night - (Artie Shaw and his Orchestra) (has an 18 label on it)
Bluebird:
• Body and Soul / Fine Dinner (Coleman Hawkins and his Orchestra). (“Body and Soul” side has some of the label ripped off with the number 13 written. The flipside “Fine Dinner” has a tiny bit of the label gone also, just from the first letter of the song name.
Decca:
• Twenty Four Robbers / I Had a Premonition (Jimmie Lunceford and his Orchestra) (This one does not lie totally flat. A video can be emailed upon request.)
$30 or best offer.
Other photos of the record book are available upon request.
Overall, most of the records are in good vintage condition. There are small superficial scratches and areas of rubbing. There is no other obvious damage except as noted. They seem flat except one, as noted. These have not been tested recently on a turntable so I cannot guarantee perfect play.
