This Mexican vintage Victoria TAXCO mixed metal coffee or tea pot / pitcher and creamer are created by Ana Nunez Brilanti who introduced the married metals technique to Taxco, Mexico. Both pieces have engraved copper exteriors which are decorated with sterling silver applied etched overlays of Mexicans working and dancing in their village. I believe the interiors are silver-plated.
Pot / Pitcher: There is a strainer spout and a dark brown wood handle, in a Turkish coffee style. The imprinted bottom bears the early Victoria Hallmark predating 1948 and the number 21. This tea or coffee pot / pitcher is in good vintage condition. There is some tarnish and there are some light scratches and areas of rubbing on the piece. There is a .25” dent on the front base of the spout. The bottom is discolored because a personal ID label was removed. This piece is 6” tall to the top of the lid handle and it weighs almost 14 ounces.
Creamer: The imprinted bottom bears the early Victoria Hallmark predating 1948 and the number 267. This little creamer is in good vintage condition. There are some scratches and tarnish and small areas of discoloration. The piece is about 2.25” tall and the base is 1.75” in diameter. It weighs almost 2.5 ounces.
Both pieces could use a polish. Please consider the photos as part of the descriptions.
These are valuable, fascinating, and unique pieces of Mexican culture!
