1. SANITIZED: This car's interior has been fully sanitized. This will be done before and after any test drives and immediately prior to the buyer taking possession of the car.
2. My wife works in Frederick, so she or I can drive the car up to the area for you to see/test drive.
3. The puddles in the picture are from the car wash.
If you’re looking for an extremely comfortable, reliable, and safe vehicle on a budget, this is the car for you. You will not find a more well-maintained and mechanically-sound Grand Marquis (or Crown Vic) of this vintage anywhere. This V8 lead sled has been my faithful companion for eight years. I’ve taken great care of this car, and it has returned the favor. I intended to drive it for several more years, hence my recent investment of about $2000 in the past year in a brand new suspension and steering components. Alas, I unexpectedly inherited a much newer car and can’t hang on to both. Here’s your opportunity to own an iconic American V8 sedan that has been driven gently and well cared for.
The car is the LS (luxury) trim, and has some pretty nice features. Here’s the lowdown:
-Power everything (windows, locks/remote keyless entry, 6-direction + lumbar seats, and mirrors)
-Leather interior (in extremely good condition except for driver’s seat, which has a small mar)
-Auto-dimming mirror with digital compass
-Digital dashboard with driver information center (distance to empty, average fuel economy, trip meter)
-Four-corner disc brakes with ABS and automatic traction control system
-Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (premium climate control system)
-Front bench seat with third seatbelt (the car seats 6)
-Auto-balancing rear air suspension
-Factory dual exhaust
-Full size factory spare on steel rim (unused and in great shape)
-Factory kevlar police trunk organizer (this thing is a life saver with groceries!)
-Factory front speakers replaced with Infinity Reference speakers (mostly because one of the factory front speakers stopped working, but they are a step up from stock)
-Interior and all rear lights replaced with high brightness LED bulbs (the parking lights in particular are much brighter, practically headlight-bright, great when driving in reverse in the dark)
Non-routine work that I have done or had done to the car:
-Brand new suspension including KYB front shocks, springs, Moog steering components, and Arnott limo-grade rear air suspension
-Police Interceptor higher-output alternator
-Upgraded to heavy-duty headlight wiring harness (factory wiring is rated lower than necessary, resulting in dim headlights in stock vehicles)
-Factory plastic intake manifold replaced with upgraded model with aluminum coolant channel (the plastic ones can crack and leak coolant)
-Idle air control module replaced
-New platinum spark plugs and ignition coils
-New fuel pump and filter
-Transmission fluid drained and filled and filter replaced (never had any issues with the transmission, this was done as preventive maintenance)
-Serpentine belt tensioner (and belt itself, periodically)
-All recommended regular maintenance and fluid changes – synthetic oil, coolant, brake fluid/lines purged, power steering fluid, cleaned injectors every other year
-Goodyear tires and Bendix performance MetLok brakes have less than 10k miles on them (should go as much as another 40k)
-There was some cosmetic body damage at the time I bought the car in 2011. It was repainted and has not shown any signs of corrosion in the eight years I have owned it except for a small spot on the front driver’s side panel. I actually have a replacement for this panel that is primed and ready to be painted and installed that I will include with the car. This is again cosmetic, the frame is in perfect condition.
This is a rock-solid car that will give you many more years of the fine service it has given me.
