the switch has at least two turns before it turns off - so turn one turns it on, turn two keeps it on (and presumably allows for a bulb that has different lighting settings but I can’t be certain because I just have a one setting bulb, and the 3rd turn turns it off.
Globe on top is glass or ceramic (not plastic)
