For the fastest response, please leave me your full name and phone number.

Chicks and juveniles are Straight run only. (your best bet is to get lots of chicks to raise, to get hens!)

I have found Silkies to be by far the best pets out of all the chicken breeds out there. They are super calm, enjoy being held, pet and being cuddled. They are fabulous for children and adults alike. I've owned almost half the breeds out there over the last 50 years of chicken ownership and personally have found Silkies to be the most enjoyable of them all.

Top quality and healthy birds from a long term breeder. Birds are not from tractor supply mixed chicks but good breeding practices of pure silkie stock. (Adult birds in photos are not for sale, they are the breeder birds the chicks come from) There are a couple of Satin and Frizzle feathered birds in the breeding pens, but not many and I can show you the difference in their feathering. Silkies have 4 feather types.

I feed a variety of all natural food for optimal health. Fermented, sprouted and fodder from wheat seed, fresh vegetables, apples, wild greens and live meal worms I grow myself. I grow my own wood sorrel, tomatoes, melons, etc. I feed 20% protein crumbles and I sift my food for the chicks so its super easy to digest, plus I add powdered kelp to my chicks feed, ground up alfalfa and other 100 % natural and healthy ingredients. I do not add CORN to any of the foods I give them. Corn is not a good grain for chickens. It's like feeding donuts to your kids at every meal. They do not need it, even in the winter.

I do sell hatching eggs but only eggs with live embryo's, so you know you are getting fertile eggs. Eggs are $60 a dozen for hatching, when excessive eggs are available.

Birds are in color matching pens with large outdoor covered runs. Only top notch, healthy, and breed standard parent flock breeding birds, so only fine and outstanding healthy chicks are hatched. Not all chicks turn out perfect or show quality but the chicks are all still wonderful.
I do NOT sell chicks that are sick or in poor health. I have no mixed parents, muddled colors or untraceable heritages. I sell both bearded and non bearded, with a couple frizzles and satin's available on occasion.

When you buy from me you don't just get my eggs or my birds. You also get my 50 years of expertise and experience. You're welcome to contact me anytime after a purchase for any problem, concern or issue, even several years later regarding chickens. Be they the ones you bought from me or you're own. That alone will save you a vet trip at $120. I typically talk to past clients for many hours after a purchase is made, and on many different occasions. To especially help 1st time chicken owners navigating in owning chickens. The things they do, why they do the things they do and what it both means and how to understand them. I happily share my knowledge, recommendations, suggestions, tips and tricks, as well as help diagnose health issues, suggest medications, treatments or just waylay a persons fear that what their birds are doing is normal. There are no silly questions. Just folks that don't know the answers to them.

Colors typically range from black, white, paint, light blue, dark blue, cuckoo, porcelain (blue based), partridge, and splash. (Not all colors are available all the time. Depends on who is laying. As silkes are not known for laying a lot of eggs, some times I have only one or two colors of chicks to choose from)

I sell all chicks and juveniles as STRAIGHT RUN only.
Chicks sell for $10 ea. (3 weeks - 2 months)

Juveniles sell for $20.00 (2 months - 8 months-straight-run)

Roosters - Breeding Roo's (Request price and availability) pet Quality $5- ea. (Several young cockerels available and a few breeding roos too!)

Anyone can sell birds and hatching eggs, but I am NPIP certified in Maryland and Pennsylvania, and a certified poultry technician in and by the state of PA with over 45 years of chicken ownership experience.

My flocks are "closed" to the public, with a tight bio-security plan in place. This past winter's inspection, I passed with no issues. This way the eggs and birds you get, are guaranteed from healthy and disease free birds.

If you are buying eggs for hatching, you should ask if they come from a NPIP Certified flock and then ask for that #. You can ask for a copy of that persons card provided by that states Dept of Agriculture also.

I never recommend buying hatching eggs from anyone not NPIP certified.

I also have proven fertility. If you are not getting eggs that produce embryos, then you are wasting your money on eggs. They do not have a reputation to worry about. Please don't buy eggs from EBAY! There are more scammers out there selling crap eggs than you can shake a stick at!
I also sell eggs with live embryo's that can be seen moving in the shell. I can even show you the movement within the shell to prove live chicks are inside! I only sell eggs with live embryo's in them so you know you are getting fertile eggs. Eggs are $60 a dozen for hatching. When excessive eggs are available they are $60 a dozen. I do not ship eggs with embryo's. They are pick up in person only. These are great for people with broody hens that their owners wish to see raise chicks of their own or place in a hatcher themselves!

I have years of repeat customers for my birds and chicks for a reason.

My hatcher is up and running, and I hatch every weekend, even during the winter! So chicks are almost always available.

Colors vary from black, blue, paint, white, splash, porcelain (blue based!), partridge with some Frizzles and Satins mixed in once in a while. YOU get to pick the ones you like in person. I typically can give you a dozen to personally choose from.

Silkie chickens are my passion and have been for over 50 years. I hope to share that passion with you!
