"You don't drink, don't smoke
What do you do?
The subtle innuendos follow
Must be something inside."
In a nutshell, this describes me.
Bonus points if you agree with the sentiment.
2x Bonus if you know the lyric reference.
This “child of the first 5 years of MTV” Bass player is looking to get into a band that is doing what I am best at - Yacht Rock, 80’s Pop, Celtic Rock or Classic Rock – it’s what I grew up on, and what I want to be a part of.
Looking for the work that will give me the most joy. The most joy is not getting my ego stroked, but rather putting out a solid product that makes the audience happy. The most joy is not about taking the best paying offer, but rather working with professionals, who want a Bass player that is part of the team, from load-in to last-out-the-door. The most joy is not running up a huge bar tab, but rather the high of caffeine plus a receptive audience.
This Bassist brings solid chops, solid gear, and a “will bust my butt for the band” attitude towards his role. Can do some background vocals. Knows the difference between practice and rehearsals. Has in the past done 200-mile+ round trips for rehearsals, so do not let his living location of Martinsburg be a negative (grew up in the Frederick area). Willing to walk the walk too – have in the past hit the stage wearing a skinny tie, funny wigs, or even a kilt!
Recent experience includes a 3-year/122 gigs run with local variety band. Have done Bass work on recent album of friend. Tends towards band monogamy.
Up front caveat-- Day job (well, evening hours actually) comes first, so availability is Th-F-Sat for rehearsals and gigs. Can take off other days of the week on occasion.
