A couple of mature guys, one who plays in a very good variety band, are looking for other member(s) for an informal not-looking-to-replace-our-day-jobs focused jam group.
The tunes are accessible in terms of getting everyone onto the same page, but not boring or banal at all. Eclectic mix of Blues, Country, Americana, multi genre, multi-era, plus a smattering of original tunes help keep it interesting. The sessions, about 2 times a month, are easy-going but focused. The sound so far is better than average.
Nice informal session space with good acoustics is the usual setting, amplification gear is on hand but usually not needed. A good balanced mix and quality vocals are stressed whether acoustic or amplified (depending on the tune or genre). Loud distorted volume that clouds the mix is avoided.
We both sing, play competently, one member is a multi-player with lots of experience including some pro.
Guitar/vocals chair(s) are occupied but with one caveat. To add in a third rhythm or lead guitar, he, or better she (female voice would ice the cake so to speak), should have lead and harmony vocal chops (as we have). Bass guitar chair is usually open. This may eventually turn into a very interesting ensemble with many possible formats or configurations, more dynamic, progressive, interesting, not static.
So, just about any versatile instrumentalist/vocalist could add another important piece to the puzzle: Bass guitar, keyboard, fiddle, brass, accordion, woodwind, percussion (not drum kit, that is already in the mix), whatever.
A good “rolodex” of other back up players exists that can add support in a pinch if something extra is needed for an event or recording.
We don’t need to, nor are expecting to, make $ having all this fun, however, if the mix is presentable, above average, we will record as well as eventually perform in front of audiences mainly for the kick, sheer joy of being appreciated , making people feel good, maybe making some pocket change.
