Duties of Position:
Project Officer (Human Factors Engineering)
Location: Ft. Detrick, MD
Project Coordinator. These are both heavier on the administrative side (research, document and proposal review, meeting agendas, reports for project planning, etc.) rather than technical. However, candidates should have background/experience within aeronautical or human factors engineering in order to understand the requirements and to be able to relate to the work being done by the developers and engineers. Focus on candidates with 2-5 years' experience; this can be a career path to a project management role.
Currently recruiting for a Project Officer (Human Factors Engineering) to assist various Contracting Officer's Representatives (CORs) and Grant Officer's Representatives (GORs) with the day-to-day project management support of numerous projects for our client. The Project Officer will perform functional requirements from an engineering perspective, and include a broad range of assignments performing analytical and/or technical requirements and analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
--Provide project management support to the GOR/COR to include tracking project deliverables, invoices, technical overview.
--Review medical research project documents in sufficient detail to become familiar with all aspects of the project, particularly those factors that affect a project's cost and schedule.
--Maintain project files and electronic documentation based on monitoring activities during the planning, design, commencement, and operational phases of the research project.
--Compile data and information for use in information briefings, decision briefings, IPRs, and other project briefings.
--Review medical research proposal documents for regulatory compliance, as well as internal consistencies with management documents and budgets.
--Coordinate, facilitate, schedule and prepare meeting agendas, minutes and reports for project planning, project initiation, status reviews and after-action meetings.
--Scientifically review proposals and SBIR topics and the ability to recommend, compare and provide evaluation/rankings.
--Other duties as assigned
--Experience with and knowledge of project management processes, inputs, tools, techniques and outputs.
--Background/Experience in Human Factors Engineering.
--Ability to write and present effective project materials, presentations, status-reporting, meeting minutes, etc
--Proficient in Microsoft Office Business Suite to produce documents, correspondence, briefings, and spreadsheets.
--Ability to travel to individual project locations for site visits and meetings and attend conferences.
--Ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities.
Education, Certifications, and Work Experience Requirements:
--Three (3) years' of progressively responsible experience.
--Bachelor's degree required.
--Existing IT/ADP III Public Trust clearance level and above or ability to obtain an IT/ADP III Public Trust.
