Vivitar PPG/1 pistol grip is used to help stabilize your camera while shooting (as the flash is mounted to the side) providing balance, it eliminates red eye by not having the flash directly over the lens and it also provides extra power for your flash as it also has a battery pack in the handle which helps power the flash through a hot shoe (this can be turned off and on). There is also a quick disconnect and an opening for a remote cable release. Allows you to comfortably hold camera for longer periods of time.
