3890462 Heads (Both have Feb 67 casting dates)
These are factory 2.02/1.60 valve heads.
There are 2 "462" head castings, one is 3891462 which were 1.94/1.50 valves and were available in multiple years and there are 3890462 which were only available in 1967 and were 2.02/1.60 valves and were used on L79's and DZ302s. These are 3890462 heads.
Perfect for a restoration, stock class racing, retro build, or L79 clone.
I purchased these from a machine shop out of Pittsburgh with the original intention of building a small journal DZ302 clone but my plans have changed.
Heads have been cleaned, wet mag'd, machined completely, resurfaced and assembled. Valves and seats have a 3 angle performance cut. Done with a Serdi 400 machine to remove material a little deeper in the bowls on both the intake and exhaust to improve flow. Valve guides replaced, spring seats cut for a larger 1.460 valve spring.
New 2.02x1.60 stainless steel valves
New 1.460 dual valve springs
New retainers, keepers, locks, and viton valve stem seals.
Valve spring specs are email@example.com closed and firstname.lastname@example.org open. 345 lbs/in rate.
(Mild Hyd. Flat Tappet)
These heads do have straight style screw in rocker studs. (Perfect for the "stock look"/stock class, however, keep in mind if you plan on running guide plates you will have to get the stud bosses spot faced to match the thickness of the plates you're going to run.)
It's hard to find decent cores on these old heads and once you do you're going to spend some money on machine work and parts.
Asking $750.00 but may consider reasonable offers.
I also have a New Old Stock GM Forged Steel Small Journal 283/302 crankshaft if you're considering a 302 clone build. (Pictures Included)
This is actually a #3474 crank which was made by GM for the government to be used in M114's which were powered by 283's. These used to be fairly common years ago when they were originally sold as surplus but they're getting pretty hard to find. Never installed in anything/never used.
Asking $500.00 for the crankshaft. If interested in the crank and heads we can work a package deal.
Trades? I may consider the following trades/partial trades....
TH350 or TH400 Transmission Set up for strip use
Ford 9" 3rd Member set up with either a locker or full spool.
