My name is Kai, and I am looking for an opportunity to learn tattooing through an apprenticeship or mentorship with an experienced artist.
I want to be upfront about my situation. I am currently homeless and living in a motel with my young daughter, so I cannot afford the high apprenticeship fees that many shops require and transportation is limited. Because of that, I am hoping to find a mentor who is willing to take on a dedicated student based on passion, work ethic, and commitment rather than money.
I have been teaching myself art fundamentals, studying tattoo techniques, sanitation practices, machine setup, line work, shading, and industry standards. I understand that tattooing is a serious profession that requires patience, discipline, and respect for safety and clients.
What I can offer:
• Reliability and a strong willingness to learn
• A positive attitude and respect for constructive criticism
• Help with cleaning, organizing, and shop duties
• Dedication to practicing daily and improving my skills
• A genuine passion for tattooing as a long-term career
I am not looking for shortcuts. I understand that earning the trust of a mentor takes time and hard work. I am simply hoping someone will give me a chance to prove myself despite my current financial circumstances.
If you are an artist or shop owner willing to talk, review my artwork, or point me in the right direction, I would be incredibly grateful.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Kai
