This room is in an apartment that is about a half a mile to the Silver Spring Red Line station of the metro and MARC trains. That station is of course in downtown Silver Spring, where there are some cool breweries (Denizens, Silver Branch), grocery stores (Giant, Whole Foods), a movie theater (AFI Silver), and at least one good coffee shop (Bump n' Grind) among other things. The apartment complex (Summit Hills) is gated and has an outdoor pool that is open in the summer, as well as a gym that right now is under renovation but will be open again in six months or so. There is also a little shop inside the development that has snacks and cleaning supplies and some other small things you may need in an emergency, which is useful since it is very close, about a three-minute walk from this apartment.
The pictures show the apartment's two cats, King and Ela, who are very friendly, the room, and the rest of the apartment.
The apartment has two other roommates. One is 30, just finished law school and got a job at a law firm, the other is in his mid 30s and works in insurance. Sometimes they have people over to play games and hang out, but it's a pretty quiet apartment. One guy has a bathroom attached to his bedroom, and you would share the main bathroom with one other guy. There are also two cats in the apartment, who are very friendly. The building management is quite good. They are very prompt when we need a repair, which is not often.
There is a lot of parking in the complex. If you have a car you just have to get a parking permit and then you can park in the complex's lots, of which there are many.
I've lived in this apartment for three years and enjoyed it a lot. I'm only moving because I'm moving in with my girlfriend. Otherwise I'd stay.
