The PCB Board Level Technician is responsible for the manual assembly, rework, testing, and troubleshooting of prototype printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, precision hand-soldering skills, and the ability to interpret engineering documentation while working closely with engineering teams to develop and validate new electronic products.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble prototype printed circuit boards (PCBs) by hand using through-hole and surface mount (SMT) components.
Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and Gerber documentation.
Perform precision soldering and rework using soldering irons, hot air rework stations, microscopes, and other electronic assembly tools.
Install fine-pitch ICs, BGAs, QFNs, SOICs, passive components, connectors, and other electronic devices.
Inspect assemblies for workmanship and compliance with IPC quality standards.
Perform board-level troubleshooting, continuity testing, and basic functional verification using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
Identify and repair solder defects, damaged traces, lifted pads, and component failures.
